Mombasa City Tour

A comprehensive tour of the island will include the Fort Jesus, built by the Portuguese in 1593, guarding the entrance to the Old Harbor. It still stands today as a museum holding a fascinating collection of historic coastal artifacts. The tour further takes you to the old Arab town with its maze of narrow twisting carved doors, goldsmiths and curio shops, Hindu temple and finally, the Akamba Handicraft Corporative, where over 1900 members produce a great variety of reasonably priced wood carvings. Visit the fruit market and then proceed North to Haller Park and engage in feeding of giraffes, crocodiles and the hippos. Engage in a short shopping expedition before returning to your hotel.
